HEMYCA is a luxury womenswear label based in Chelsea, London. Co-founders Helen Clinch and Myra Nigris met while studying at the London College of Fashion and ever since have been devoted to the art of luxury fashion design; a tradition passed down through family generations, as Helen’s family worked in Saville Row while Myra’s family from their atelier in Italy, dressed the most glamorous women and men of the 1950’s era.
In February 2007, after spending a few years training with designers Roland Mouret and Ben de Lisi, Helen and Myra launched the HEMYCA brand with a vision to create a globally recognised brand synonymous with luxury and quality.
HEMYCA’s vision of timeless, elegant and modern luxury is evident in their collections. Structural silhouettes that mould and shape the body are created through complex cutting, precision tailoring with exceptional detailing and a distinctive edge. HEMYCA’s designs cut a powerful yet ultra-feminine silhouette in luxury fabrics. HEMYCA is fascinated by the struggle between darkness and light and inspired by historical female icons; both these themes are vividly explored throughout their collections with a strong focus on creating expressive and functional clothing for dynamic, confident women.
HEMYCA has dressed a number of fashion icons including: Dame Kelly Holmes, Paula Radcliffe, Sally Hawkins, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Livia Firth, Lisa Snowdon and Cheryl Cole.
The brand’s ready to wear line is stocked internationally in the UK, Europe, and Hong Kong and is now available online. HEMYCA Atelier and Bridal is available made-to-measure by appointment at the HEMYCA studio in London.
In 2008 Vogue declares HEMYCA as “One of fashion’s finest up-and-coming designers,” Elle showcases HEMYCA in their round up report, while the Daily Telegraph pronounces HEMYCA as “the UK’s most sought after new designer”.
